ELF BAR subsequently issued a statement, the following is the full text of the statement:

Following our recent notification, following today’s meeting with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), we would like to update you on the ELF BAR.

Recent news reports have raised questions about the compliance of the ELFBAR 600 in the UK market.

Immediately following these allegations, we found a number of products on the UK market that exceeded the allowable e-liquid fill levels.

Although this issue meant that the product was not fully compliant with UK regulations, we did not find any issues with nicotine levels, or anything that might mean product safety was compromised in any way.

We met with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency today to discuss and ensure that corrective measures have been taken to secure ELFBAR 600 on the UK market. We were supported at the conference by UKVIA and IBVTA, two trade associations for the UK vaping industry.

Our obligations are very clear, and there is no question that we have acknowledged that we have fallen short in some areas. The MHRA agrees that despite these shortcomings, they do not consider non-compliance to be of any safety concern, but still breaches UK regulations.

The MHRA said their advice was that the product be withdrawn from the market.

We agree with this recommendation and will voluntarily withdraw the non-compliant ELFBAR 600 from the UK market. We will assist in securing the removal.

We will update all distribution and retail partners on how to implement corrective actions as agreed.

Additionally, we are committed to investigating all other vaping products we export and will take any action we deem necessary to ensure compliance across our company.

We thank the MHRA for its support in this urgent and important matter, and for the opportunity to work together to bring all of our products into full compliance with UK regulations.

We have committed to further meetings with the MHRA to ensure our products are compliant.
